a peachy/pink knitted pouch with a bright blue button. It contains two pokemon cards, one dewpider and one pikachu.

My youngest sister (almost 7 years old) started collecting Pokémon cards recently but she doesn’t have one of those binders yet so she’s scared of losing her cards. So I found this pattern on Ravelry, asked her to pick out some yarn and a button she liked, told her to sit down and watch some spongebob with me, and about three episodes later I finished this!

It’s not much but she thinks it’s the best thing ever and she’s been thanking me all morning. She loves it so much!

When I finish a row when I’m knitting I …

When I finish a row when I’m knitting I turn the needles around to do the next one, but then I end up with a row of knit and a row of pearl. Please help me fix this???

Forgive me if I’m reading this wrong but I remember thinking the same thing when I first started knitting.

I’m assuming by your message that you’re knitting every single row.  This means you’re doing garter stitch.  By nature, you will end up with “purl” rows because purl stitches are the back side of knitted stitches.

It sounds like you want stockinette stitch.  Stockinette is done by knitting the first row (right side) and then purling the next (wrong side).  This way, you end up with one side that is smooth which will be the side you show off.  Be warned: stockinette curls in on itself so you might want to iron/block those projects to make them lay flat.

I hope this helps!

Hello everyone! I have a quick question for you all. I am in a little bit of a creative dry patch and can’t think of what to crochet or knit next. If you have any thoughts please share them with me. Even if it’s just a fandom you would like to see anime, movies, video games, etc.. Thank you all so much for your support and I look forward to hear from you!
